Sex educators believe that providing age-specific information allows teachers to retain more control over teaching topics while avoiding potentially confusing narratives or topics that make students feel uncomfortable. They also believe that age-appropriate conversations between adults can help students learn more about their own bodies. Some educators also feel that empowering youth with age-appropriate information can help them develop healthier relationships with their bodies through healthy communication with others around them—not just within close personal relationships but also romantic partners or friends.
